Our 5th annual Abstinence camp for this year ran from the 18th-23rd of August 2008. Uganda has been a very big player in leading the battle against the AIDS epidemic world wide, in this regard we would like as well to impact young people from neighboring Countries. This year’s camp saw participants come from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DR-Congo & Southern Sudan. Through this conference, we're looking at establishing long term and strong working partners as we have in Kenya over years.

She is at the same time the founder and patron of Uganda Youth
Forum. She has been a long time crusader and promoter of the Abstinence & Be faithful Strategy in the fight against the AIDS Epidemic Uganda and she respected by many in Uganda as Mama Janet (Mother Janet). In this conference, we will as well have her Majesty the Queen of Buganda Naginda speak to the Young people in this conference

Conference Donations:
Because all our local participants cannot afford to pay for their registration fees, we welcome both financial and material donations towards the conference expenditures such as venue, feeding, materials, transport, handouts/materials, and communication. Media Fraternity Workshop:
On the 23rd of August we will hold a one day workshop with the media fraternity in Uganda to address the issue of Abstinence Stigma, which is most being caused by the media, if you are an International speaker interested in speaking to the media houses on the issue of Abstinence Stigma, kindly let us know. On the same date as well will be having a TV-Talk show on Abstinence Stigma and the Achievements, kindly let us know if you would to participate in the TV Talk shows. Uganda apparently has 7 TV stations, 2 are Christian and 5 secular, we're working on a program where all the 7 TV stations will air the talk show at the same time though with different facilitators.

Getting the AIDS message out to broad populations, requires the involvement of every institution e.g. religious, cultural, private sector, ngos and cbo’s etc. The religious leaders have got the best platform to spread the message on HIV prevention through the pulpit, associated events and all religious gatherings, yet they are often neglected in the fight against the AIDS Epidemic. The 3 days workshop starting on the 23rd of August ending on 25th of August 2008, will deal with Critical issues involved in enhancing the capacity of religious leaders to actively participate in HIV prevention
and AIDS care programs through: Sensitization, Capacity building at community level and Resource mobilization.

2008 Conference Venue:
2008 Abstinence conference will be held at Nabinonya located on the beautiful shores of Lake Victoria, with a very beautiful beach. This is just 5 Kilometers from the Entebbe International Airport or 30Kms from Kampala City.
